Wisdom is more valuable than jewels; nothing you could want can compare with it. —Proverbs 3:15 (GNT)

As a believer, one of the things you must do for yourself is to walk in wisdom at all times. Why? Because wisdom is a virtue that can preserve your life. When God asked Solomon what he wanted, the king asked for an understanding heart, and the request pleased God. God was pleased because wisdom is the one thing that gives you access to everything else.

When King Solomon was finally blessed with wisdom, he wrote about it, saying:

…there is more profit in it than there is in silver; it is worth more to you than gold. Wisdom is more valuable than jewels; nothing you could want can compare with it. Wisdom offers you long life, as well as wealth and honor. Wisdom can make your life pleasant and lead you safely through it. Those who become wise are happy; wisdom will give them life. —Proverbs 3:14-18 (GNT)

Now you can understand why God said this to King Solomon:

“Because you have asked for the wisdom to rule justly, instead of long life for yourself or riches or the death of your enemies, I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again. I will also give you what you have not asked for: all your life you will have wealth and honor, more than that of any other king. And if you obey me and keep my laws and commands, as your father David did, I will give you a long life.” —1 Kings 3:11-14 (GNT)

So, wisdom is a precious asset, and you have a responsibility to always walk in it. The good news is that Christ has been made wisdom for us (1 Corinthians 1:30), which means we already have the wisdom of God in us. Your responsibility is to operate in this wisdom and let all your dealings flow from that place. Avoid foolishness at all costs, because it will not benefit you at all.

Today’s Rhema

Conduct all your dealings from a place of wisdom, because it is a place of safety!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this reminder of the need to walk in wisdom. I declare today that the grace to operate in wisdom is at work in me, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
