Men raise their arms to thank God.

“…do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether sin leading to death or of obedience leading to righteousness…” —Romans 6:16 (NKJV)

Sometimes, in the quest for achievement, people unconsciously present themselves to the world and they live by its principles and standards, which ultimately makes them conform to this world and live in error. Because the world and its standards do not point people to God but rather drag them away from God. The god of this age, which is the devil, has programmed everything in the world to disobey God and if you live by the world’s standard of doing things, you will certainly walk in disobedience. It is important that as a Christian you are mindful of the kind of life you live and to whom you have decided to present yourself (time, possession and attention) because friendship with the world, the Bible says is enmity with God (James 4:4) and whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God (James 4:4b). Therefore, you must be conscious of this truth and be mindful of whom you present yourself to.

When you find yourself so busy with worldly activities that you are no longer interested in spiritual matters like spending time in your house with God in prayers or studies, coming to church for worship, fasting and praying, soul winning, you have presented yourself to the world and you must return very quickly because it will take you nowhere. For example, if you are so busy with working and toiling to make money that you no longer have time to go to church for worship and participate in what the body of Christ is doing on the earth today, you will end up with no good because you will lose on both sides. You may never get the money, so why lose out on God? You’ve got to understand that the world is up to nothing but destruction according to the scriptures. So “…do not love the world or anything that belongs to the world. If you love the world, you do not love the Father. Everything that belongs to the world- what the sinful self desires, what the people see and want, and everything in this world that people are so proud of- none of this comes from the Father; it all comes from the world. The world and everything in it that people desire is passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever…” (1 John 2:15 GNB) so present yourself to God and submit to Him wholeheartedly. You indeed ought to give attention to your career, but you should consciously create time for God. God bless you!
