“….Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves…”Romans 13:1-2 (NKJV)
In our walk with God, there are several things we must learn and one of them is that you must be submissive to authority, whether it is physical or spiritual. I know that many do not subscribe to this but beloved it is in your best interest that you submit to authority, wherever you have found yourself.
Why must I submit to authority you might ask? Well, the answer is very simple. The reason you should, is because when you submit, that is humility at work and humility according to the scriptures is the key to receiving more grace (Scripture Reference: James 4:6).
So, when you are a believer who submits to authority, you will one day grow to be in authority. But when you are rebellious to authority, you will never taste authority because you have no respect for authority. As a matter of fact, when you resist authority, it is to your detriment because according to our opening text, the Bible says “…whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves…”Romans 13:2 (NKJV). Did you see that? So, I urge you to become submissive to authority in whatever you do and in the end, you will be the one to be promoted or benefit from it. Praise God!
Today’s Rhema
When you submit to authority, you will one day end up in authority, but when you resist it, you bring judgment to yourself!
Confession for the Day
Father, I am grateful for your love and counsel. I choose this day to be faithful and submissive to authority and as I do, I am walking on authority in the name of Jesus. Amen!
