“…the heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness…” Proverbs 15:14 (NKJV)

Someone once said, if you think acquiring knowledge is expensive, then try ignorance. How true! Ignorance can actually cost a man his life or even his fortune, if he chooses to do nothing about it. As a Christian, it is important that you develop an uncommon appetite for knowledge. Because through knowledge you can secure for yourself a wonderful life and a beautiful future. Now, there is worldly ignorance and there is spiritual ignorance. The two of them are not the same thing. Worldly ignorance is when you lack the knowledge of the important things of this world, while spiritual ignorance is when you lack the knowledge of God and His righteousness.  Just as worldly ignorance could cost a man his life and fortune, so also is spiritual ignorance. As a matter of fact spiritual ignorance is the worst because if you are spiritually ignorant, you will be enslaved by the devil and deprived of your rights in Christ Jesus. And if caution is not taken, you could also be deprived of salvation and an eternal future with God.

There is no telling the damage that spiritual ignorance can cause. Many are trapped and frustrated in their lives, because they are spiritually ignorant. Their destinies are wasting away because they are ignorant of the things that they should know. And God pointed this out when He was addressing the children of Israel, He said “…my people perish for the lack of knowledge…” Hosea 4:6. The children of Israel at this point were wasting away because they had no knowledge of God. They lived below God’s standard because they didn’t know what God wanted from them. So as a result of this, God said “…because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children…” Hosea 4:6 (NKJV). This is how much damage their lack of knowledge brought them. So, it is important that you spend time educating yourself spiritually.

Today’s Rhema

The cost of spiritual ignorance can be very disastrous, so why not go for knowledge!

Confession for the Day

Gracious father, I give you all the praise for enlightening on what I need to know to live a life of victory. I declare that I will go for knowledge like I have never done before and by the power of the Holy Ghost, I grow in all areas and live a life of dominion through the knowledge of God’s word in the name of Jesus. Amen!
