“…for the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus; that if one died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again…” 2 Cor 5:14 (NKJV)
As a believer, are you ruled by the love of Christ, or are you ruled by the worldly kind of love? What kind of love is governing your life? Is it really the love of Christ? I know this question, may sound ridiculous or embarrassing to some people, but in the actual sense, this is one question we must ask ourselves from time to time. And the reason is that, until you know the kind of love you are running with, you will not know whether you are truly on the right path or not. The society we live in has shown us a certain kind of love that is selfish and based on conditions. Many unknowingly have subscribed to this kind of love and that is what they are ruled by. But again and again, this kind of love has proven to be very unreliable and as such, God does not want us to walk in this kind of love or be ruled by it. Instead, God wants us to be ruled by the love of Christ.
The love of Christ is the love of God, this kind of love is not selfish but selfless. It is not self-seeking or based on conditions. Instead, it is without conditions, and it puts others first before self. This is the kind of love that our Lord Jesus Christ revealed to us when He came to the world and paid the ultimate price on our behalf. This is the kind of love our Lord Jesus Christ described saying, “…greater love has no one than this than to lay down one’s life for his friends…” John 15:13 (NKJV). This is the kind of love that God wants us to run with, therefore, I encourage you today to take this love seriously and let your life be governed by the love of Christ. Let everything you do, be inspired by the love of Christ and when you live like this, it will ultimately, impact your results and outcome in life. Disconnect yourself completely, from the worldly kind of love because instead of adding to you, this kind of life will take from you and keep you down. But when you give the love of God a chance in your life, it will promote you and make you that man or woman that God has ordained you to be. Praise God!
