“Be patient and wait for the Lord to act.” — Psalm 37:7 (GNT)
After you have expressed your faith in prayer, the next critical step is to wait for God to act. This is where many believers stumble. They pray, but instead of waiting patiently, they grow anxious. When the answers don’t arrive as expected, they allow doubt and negative confessions to creep in—uprooting the seeds they had just sown in faith.
Child of God, if you truly want your prayers to produce lasting and powerful results, you must learn the art of patience. Understand this: God is a King, not a servant. He does not act on command, but in His perfect timing. He often won’t respond according to your timeline, but between the moment you pray and the moment the answer arrives, your attitude matters greatly. It determines whether you receive or lose the answers you’ve prayed for.
Unfortunately, this waiting period is where many lose heart. Though they’ve prayed in faith, they aren’t patient enough to see the manifestation. But the Bible encourages us, saying: “Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” — Psalm 27:14 (NKJV).
Be like David, who said:
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay,
and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—praise to our God;
many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.” — Psalm 40:1–3 (NKJV)
David understood the transformative power of patience, and he put it to work in his life—and it produced results. You too must do the same. After you’ve prayed, trust God completely and wait patiently. In due time, He will come through for you. Hallelujah!
