Offended man giving stopping gesture

“…talk no more so very proudly; let no arrogance come from your mouth, for the lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him, actions are weighed…” 1 Samuel 2:3 (NKJV)

Arrogance is one thing you must avoid in your life because it gives you a bad reputation and keeps you in the wrong light. Today we find that there are lots of people who don’t see anything wrong with being arrogant. They see it as a part of their lives; some see it as a way of defence while others see it as a way of communication but the truth is that none of these are justifiable.  It is not an act of defence nor is it a way of communication but only a work of the flesh which is bad and must be avoided because it is not consistent with the life and nature we have received from God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, there must be some deliberate effort from your end not to fall prey to this act. No matter how much you are tempted to be arrogant, hold back yourself. Many have missed opportunities and business contracts in their lives because they were arrogant in the way they spoke or in the way they behaved.

The Bible told us in the book of Galatians 5:25, about the fruit of the Spirit and one of it is gentleness. Learn to be gentle in your dealings. Allow the Spirit of God; to manifest Himself through you so that all may look at you and know that God’s word is truly at work in your lives. There is no gain in being arrogant, it will only create for you enemies and spoil your relationship with people. It will give you a bad name and make people stay away from you. So, make a conscious decision to avoid being arrogant. You might say but sometimes, these things cannot be avoided because people through their character bring out these traits in you. Well, I disagree with that because, as children of God, we are supposed to be the influence, not the influence. We don’t do things because others pushed us to do it. We do what we know that God approves of and leave those things we know He does not approve of. Refuse to allow another man’s behaviour to influence you or change who you are or what you have become in Christ. Do all you can to maintain your stand and standards in Christ Jesus, because you are a new creation. Choose to be different and be gentle. Gentleness is not a sign of weakness but a sign of spiritual maturity. Let your presence communicate the gentleness of the Spirit of God and love of God. God bless you!

Confession for the Day

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the Spirit you gave to me as a gift, I thank you because of the ministry He has come to fulfill in my life. I declare that from henceforth, I will continue to yield myself to Him so that my life will be characterized by the fruits which He produces in me in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
