“…But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified…” — 1 Corinthians 9:27 (NKJV)
Do you know that the difference between someone who achieves their goals and someone who does not is discipline? Yes, you heard that right! Discipline is the key that distinguishes success from failure in any endeavor. As you pursue your dreams and goals this year, you must make discipline your ally. Without it, distractions will overwhelm you, pressure will break you, and hope will fade.
However, when discipline becomes a part of your life, it empowers you to sustain your efforts and produce results. Paul the Apostle understood this deeply when he said, “…I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified…” (1 Corinthians 9:27, NKJV). He recognized that discipline was essential to winning the race of life and fulfilling his purpose.
I encourage you to embrace discipline in your pursuits this year. Remember, whatever you want to achieve is possible, but the path to possibility requires discipline. Interestingly, the journey of discipline is not always comfortable. You will need to bring your body under subjection, endure the pain that comes with discipline, and push yourself beyond your comfort zone. But the good news is that when you persist without quitting, you will reap the rewards of your disciplined efforts. Hallelujah! So, get to work and watch those dreams of yours turn into reality in no time. Praise God!
