Prayer in the morning in a beautiful sunrise

In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. —Daniel 10:2–3 (NKJV)

When you pray, do you truly expect answers, or do you just pray as a routine? Many people today pray without expectation. They approach prayer like a duty—whether or not answers come, they don’t care. This mindset often leads to discouragement and, eventually, to giving up on prayer altogether.

But if you want results, you must be determined. In our opening text, Daniel pressed on in fasting and prayer until he received an angelic visitation. Determination was what kept him steady until breakthrough came. The same applies to us: if you want results in prayer, you must be determined, because determination is a key ingredient for answered prayers.

Sometimes the answers we seek don’t come easily. Circumstances may delay the outcome, or unseen forces may resist it. In Daniel’s case, God heard his prayers immediately and sent an angel. But that angel was delayed for three weeks by the prince of Persia until angelic reinforcement came (Daniel 10:12–14). What kept the answer in motion was Daniel’s determination—he refused to quit praying. Without that persistence, there would have been no reinforcement.

The same is true for us today. Without determination, we can easily give up when resistance comes. But if we choose to press on, no demonic force can ultimately stop the answer from reaching us. Determination in prayer ensures that, despite opposition, you prevail and receive what God has already released.

Today’s Rhema

If you truly want answers to your prayers, you must pray with determination till you win!

Confession for the Day

The spirit of determination is at work in me. As I pray with persistence, every resistance and opposition is broken, and I receive the answers to my prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen!
