Be Clear on Your Goals

“…Where there is no vision, the people perish…” — Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

There is nothing that frustrates me like the lack of clarity. Over the years, I have seen people who want to achieve several things for the year but do not have clarity on what they want. Today, they want to study; tomorrow, they want to start a business; and the next day, they want to do something else. Their attention is so scattered that they end up achieving nothing and then complain bitterly about their lack of progress. In most cases, they even blame others, but the truth is their inability to achieve anything stems from a lack of clarity.

Beloved, if you truly want to achieve something tangible and visible this year, you must first get clarity. Do not engage in any venture that you are not clear about. Don’t start something today only to lose interest midway and decide to abandon it for another idea. That approach will waste your time and energy, and before you know it, the year will slip away. Many people have fallen into this cycle for years and wonder why they haven’t made progress. Let your case be different this year. Make a conscious decision to be clear on your goals. If you’re uncertain, take it to God in prayer and seek His guidance for direction and clarity.

On one occasion, when the disciples of Jesus Christ sought clarity, the Bible says: “…As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.’ Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away…” — Acts 13:2-3 (NKJV). Did you see that? Once they received clarity, they acted decisively. The same approach applies to you. Seek clarity from God, and He will guide you. This will ensure you take actions in the right direction.

As you begin this year, be clear on your goals. Be like our Lord Jesus Christ, who said: “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work…” — John 4:34 (NKJV). Jesus knew His purpose and focused all His efforts on fulfilling it. Hallelujah!

When there is no clarity, there can be no achievement!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this insightful message. I receive clarity today, and I declare that the grace to pursue my dreams and achieve them is at work in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
