” …for the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me…” Job 3:25(KJV).
According to the scriptures, Job was a wealthy man who experienced the sudden loss of all his possessions. During this unfortunate event, Job expressed his deepest fears saying, “the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me”. He acknowledged that the very things he had feared the most had come to pass. From this statement we can infer that Job, to a reasonable extent, had invited his misfortune. He must have thought at a certain time that his life was too good to be true, and that something evil might take place soon. His imaginations gave birth to his misfortune.
This is why we must be very careful of the pictures we carry in our hearts, because our mental pictures have the ability to come alive. It is for this reason we were admonished in the scriptures to guard our hearts above all else, for everything we do flows from it” Proverbs 4:23(NIV).
It’s important to know that the pictures we carry in our heart can give birth to something. Our imaginative ability is our creative ability. This therefore means as believers, one of the best things we can do for ourselves is to choose to carry the right pictures or images in our heart, so that when our mental pictures begin to give birth, we can be at a place of advantage. We must consciously choose to only entertain the right thoughts and carry the right images in our hearts, so that when they bear fruits it will be good fruits and not bad fruits.
Our futures and lives are totally dependent on what and how we think. If we think positively we attract positive things to us, if we think negative, we attract negative things to ourselves. So, from today, start thinking positive thoughts so that your future can be affected positively. Amen!
