“…whoever wants to serve me must follow me so that my servant will be with me where I am. And my father will honor anyone who serves me…” John 12:26 (NKJV)

Having established the importance of service in the first part of this article, it is important to understand that as a Child of God, there are certain values you must hold dear in your life as they would go a long way to determine the outcome of your life. One of those values is service. It is a vital part of your Christianity that should be taken very seriously because it goes a long way to determine the quality of life you will live as a Christian and most importantly it determines the kind of promotion that will come to you. You must make up your mind that as a Christian, you will be found in service to God and to humanity. As simple as this might sound, it is a very important truth that should not be ignored. Some people have ignored this truth and today, they are living a fruitless life because they are only living for themselves. But this is not God’s plan for your life, God wants you to be a Christian who is service minded, a Christian who is willing to look away from Himself and extend the hand of help to others.

The Bible says to us “…don’t do anything for a selfish purpose, but with humility think of others as better than yourselves. Instead of each person watching out for their own good, watch out for what is better for others. Adopt the attitude that was in Christ Jesus…”Philippians 2:3-5 (CEB) Did you see that? It communicates to us the kind of mindset and perspective we ought to have as Christians. Therefore, be determined to be found serving. Locate areas where you can be useful and functional. If you can do this and become diligent in that area, you will be amazed at how it will change your life and attract several opportunities to you. Over the years, many of God’s people have discovered their calling through service while a lot of others have received all manner of opportunities because they choose to serve. So, I encourage you today, to make a decision to become a Christian who serves. This decision can change your life and make you stand amongst princes. Remember, there are no promises or promotions for the one who is idle. But for those who serve, the opportunities are limitless, so serve.

Today’s Rhema

There are no promises or promotion for the one who is idle, only those that serve receives promotion!
