“…whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave – just as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many…” Matthew 20: 27-28 (NKJV)

Beloved, do you know that true Christianity is all about service to God, His kingdom and to humanity? But sadly that is not the case today. Many have chosen to live the life of executive Christianity. They are not willing to do anything or take any responsibility in the house of God. They are not willing to be useful to God and His kingdom. They prefer to come to church, listen to the word of God and go back home. They are not interested in joining any department or serving in the house of God. In most cases when you talk about it, they proudly say I just want to be a member, I don’t want to take any responsibility, but the question is, is that how God wants it? Certainly not!

Beloved, God wants us to be useful and responsible in His house. He wants us to be Christians who serve and not to be served because in service comes the blessings. And that is a fact. As long as a Christian is not willing to take up any responsibility in the house of God, he is making himself of no relevance to God and His kingdom, thus he is just a liability to the kingdom. The question is, do you want to be a liability or an asset to the kingdom of God? Think about this very carefully. I discovered that many of God’s people never really consider this truth, but ask yourself this question, are you a liability to God or an asset? What have you made happen in the kingdom because of your commitment and relevance? If there is nothing you can lay your hands on, then you have to make up your mind to become an asset to God. And the way to do this is to start serving in the house of the Lord. Praise God!

Today’s Rhema

Don’t just be a child of God, be a child who serves!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for this timely message, I choose this day to be a Christian who serves and not one who is served. I choose to be an asset to the kingdom and not a liability and as I walk this path, I the rewards of service shall remain my portion in the name of Jesus. Amen!
