“…For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart…”Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)

When we take a close look at our opening text, it speaks of how powerful the Word of God is. It says it is living and powerful. What does this mean? It means that the word of God is not to be taken lightly, it means that the word of God has the ability to change a man’s life and therefore should not be taken for granted. Sadly, many people today have grown too familiar with the Word of God. A large number of God’s people have lost value for the Word of God and in most cases when they hear it preached, they feel they have heard it before while some others feel they already know what you are saying but the truth is that it is not about knowing the Word, it’s about having value for it every time you hear it being preached.

When you give value to God’s Word, you draw value from it. The level of impact the Word of God will make in your life is entire dependent on how much value you have for it. If you grow too familiar with the Word, it won’t make any impact in your life. But when you place a great value on it and believe what it says, it can change your life completely and give you the life that God wants for you. King David had so much value for God’s Word that he said to God, “…Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path…”Psalms 119:105 (NKJV). He understood the importance of God’s word and he lived an exceptional life. Through God’s word, he was kept from harm’s way, and he was continually inspired by the Holy Spirit, and he did exploits in his days. If you will place value on God’s word today, you will see a drastic turn around in your life. Praise God!

TODAY’S RHEMA

When you give value to God’s word, you draw value from it!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

By the power of God’s Spirit, I decree the grace to place value on God’s word is at work in me. I refuse to become familiar with the word. I choose to give my heart to it and as I do, I am experiencing the wonder working power of God in the name of Jesus. Amen!
