“….Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life….” Galatians 6:7‭-‬8 (NKJV)

One of the things I have seen amongst many of God’s people is that they live according to the world and yet expect so much from God. When it’s not happening, they get really offended and blame God for all their predicament. In most cases, they change their confession and stop coming to church or participating in church activities. I remember some years ago, a young man was involved in cult activities and on one occasion, a rival group came for him and as he was running away from them, he jumped from a story building and broke his leg. Now, when we went to pay him a visit at the hospital, he was in so much pain and the only thing he kept saying was “God why me”. He was really bitter and angry at God. He made it look as though God was responsible for that incident that happened in His life, but he failed to see that he was the one that brought that situation into his life. He didn’t understand that scriptures do not support such a lifestyle, therefore what he experienced was as a result of the lifestyle he chose to live.

Beloved, you must understand that every lifestyle has consequences. If you live according to the dictates of the world, you will get the results that go with that kind of life but if you live according to the prescription given to us in the word of God, you will get the blessings of the scripture. That is why the Bible says in our opening text, “….do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life….” Galatians 6:7‭-‬8 (NKJV). Did you see that? To live according to the world and expect the blessings of the scriptures, is fraudulent. Therefore, you must be careful to avoid any lifestyle that you know the scripture does not support. Remember, friendship with the world, is enmity with God (James 4:4)

Today’s Rhema

If you want the blessings of the scriptures then you must avoid the lifestyle of the world!

Confession for the Day

Father, I am grateful for teaching me the undiluted truth of your word. I choose this day to live according to the scriptures. I choose to avoid any lifestyle that the scriptures do not support because I am born again and am no longer of this world. Hallelujah!
