“therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is”Ephesians 5:15 (NKJV)

If you want to consistently make the right decisions at different stages in your life, you must consciously choose to ask the Lord first before making any move. As simple as this might sound, it can save you from many troubles. Unfortunately, many of God’s people overlook this important step.

Instead of seeking God’s guidance, they act before involving Him, which is not the way it should be. If you want to do things right and succeed on your first try, you must learn to ask God first. Don’t be in such a hurry that you overlook this counsel.

Over the years, many have made mistakes because they didn’t consult God before venturing into certain things. However, that’s why you’re reading this article now. God wants your case to be different, so you must be disciplined enough to always turn to Him for guidance. It might take time, but wait for God’s response before you make any move.

One reason King David excelled in battles and other endeavors was that he took this advice seriously. On one occasion, when the Amalekites had invaded the south and Ziklag, burning it and taking captives, David’s men were heartbroken and discouraged. Before deciding to pursue the invaders, the Bible records in 1 Samuel 30:8 that “David inquired of the Lord, saying, ‘Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?'” David wanted to go after them, but he first sought God’s approval for his plan.

Like David, will you be diligent enough to find out God’s stance on certain areas of your life today? You should, because knowing God’s will concerning a matter makes all the difference. Choose this day to always seek God’s opinion or will concerning sensitive matters in your life.

Let the scripture which says, “Do not be unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:15) be fulfilled in your life at all times in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Today’s Rhema

Life is very spiritual and as such, you don’t live ordinarily or walk carnally, you must walk spiritually.

Confession for the Day

Gracious King of Glory, your word is life to me and as I continue to hear your words, it helps me to deal wisely in life. So I declare that I am persuaded by your Word. Wherever I go, and in whatever I do, I make efforts to always seek the face of God and understand the will of God for my life in the name of Jesus. Amen!
