So David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, for his kingdom was highly exalted for the sake of His people Israel. —1 Chronicles 14:2 (NKJV)
Look closely at this verse and you’ll see why God made David great. It wasn’t about David alone; God had Israel in mind. He knew David would lead His people in His ways and help the nation become everything He had called it to be.
So when God raises a man and makes him great, He isn’t looking only at that man. He’s looking at his sphere of influence: his city, his nation, the people within his reach. God makes you great so you can bring liberation to those around you.
As a child of God, make it a habit to extend a helping hand and be a blessing to someone near you. God’s blessings were never meant for you alone. They’re meant to be shared, and sharing them makes the world a better place.
Sadly, many people today are self-centered and self-seeking. The poor and less privileged rarely cross their minds, and it’s every man for himself. That’s not how it’s supposed to be. The world would truly be a better place if everyone were kind, generous, and ready to share. So let’s make room for others in our lives by sharing what we have. Praise God!
