But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. —Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
Having established in the second part of this article the reasons why you should wait on the Lord, it is important to know that there are some key things waiting on the Lord will do in your life—things that could transform you completely.
The first thing waiting on the Lord will do for you is renew your strength. The Bible says in our opening text, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength…” (Isaiah 40:31a). One thing that easily happens to us in the race of life is that we lose steam without even realizing it. We grow weak and tired. However, all of that changes when you deliberately begin to wait on the Lord. Your strength is recharged and renewed.
The second benefit of waiting is that it helps you mount up with wings like an eagle. The Bible says, “…they shall mount up with wings like eagles…” This means you will rise like an edifice, ready to soar.
Thirdly, waiting on the Lord will help you run and not be weary because you have gathered all the strength you need in the waiting place. So when you move forward, you will keep going without growing tired.
Finally, waiting on the Lord enables you to walk and not faint. Why? Because it produces stability and balance within you. You will find yourself moving forward without stumbling, fainting, or growing weak.
Did you see that? These are just some of the many things waiting on the Lord will do for you. Above all, it will minimize your mistakes and align you with God’s perfect will for your life.
So I admonish you today: wait on God and refuse to rush Him. Don’t let the enemy rob you of patience. Instead, set your gaze on God, wait on Him, and be willing to follow His direction. Praise God!
