“…now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father…” Galatians 4:1-2 (NKJV)

Beloved, are you growing in the things of God? Are you growing in your knowledge of God? I know these questions may sound surprising, but are you really growing? Well, you should because, one of the things God expects from you is growth. You heard me right, spiritual growth. Your spiritual growth is of utmost concern to God and as such must be your priority in life. Without spiritual growth, you cannot access the deep things of God or walk in the fullness of His promises for you. Without spiritual growth, there are lots of things that the devil will deprive you of because he knows you are not mature enough to walk in those blessings. So it is important that you take your spiritual growth seriously and walk towards it every day. Pay close attention to the things that are expected of you in the scriptures and grow. How you might ask? By taking out time to learn new things from the scriptures and putting them to work.

Refuse to be like those whom the Bible says, “ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth” – 2 Timothy 3:7 (NKJV). Rather choose to learn and do, that is the true sign that you are growing. And guess what, that is what guarantees that you will walk in the blessings that the Bible speaks about, for it is written, “…he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does…” James 1:25 (NKJV).

So begin today to pay close attention to your Christian walk, eliminate all things that are not consistent with God’s word for you. Align yourself with His statues, charges, commands and instructions. Stop asking questions that baby Christians ask and start growing. If there are things you don’t understand in the scriptures, don’t act childish about it but go to God in prayers for understanding. And He who gives to all liberally and without reproach will give you the understanding that you desire.  So do the needful today and remember that the key to Christian growth is in hearing, doing and continuing in the word of righteousness. Let your years of being a Christian be on par with your attitude, character and behavior. Let your words communicate Christian maturity and most importantly, let your life reflect the life of Jesus because that is the goal in the long run. Hallelujah!

Confession for the Day

Thank you heavenly father for your word, I am nourished and blessed. I am growing and maturing in the things of the Spirit. I am hearing to do and am making progress in all things in the name of Jesus. Amen!
