“…you worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth…” —John 4:22-24 (NKJV)
Many of God’s people today are wallowing in religion. After many years of following God and trying to please Him through worldly perspectives, they see no real change in their lives. This happens because they have spent years chasing a shadow instead of the reality. They possess a form of godliness but completely lack its power (2 Timothy 3:5).
The best thing that can ever happen to you is to build a personal relationship with God the Father. God is not interested in you worshiping a set of rules; He wants you to worship Him. He desires for you to know Him intimately for yourself. When you have a true relationship with Him, you no longer follow rigid regulations. Instead, you follow a loving Father who guides your steps along the right path.
As you go about your daily activities today, I encourage you to leave all forms of religion behind and embrace the real thing. Stop being slothful in your spiritual walk and begin to take God seriously. Remember that you can never outsmart Him; He is and will always be far wiser. Religion yields nothing but disappointment and wasted time, but worshiping God in spirit and in truth grants you life, peace, and power.
Choose to be a true worshiper rather than a religious person. The Father is actively seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Commit to this path today and experience the fullness of His presence. Praise God!

Prayer
Father, I am grateful to You for revealing this truth to me. I refuse to continue down the path of empty religion. I choose to seek and follow You with all my heart. Please reveal Yourself to me more and more so that I may grow in my revelation of You. Help me become the true worshiper You desire. In Jesus’ name, amen!
