“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” —2 Corinthians 9:7 (NKJV).
When it comes to giving, do you give cheerfully? Are you a cheerful giver? Have you taken the time to ask yourself this question honestly? If you have not, I think you should, because it will go a long way in helping you know where you are in your giving life. Most people never bother to ask themselves this question, and as a result, they never improve.
You have to understand that as a Christian, God does not want you to be merely a giver, but a cheerful giver. The Bible says God loves a cheerful giver. That means God takes pleasure in such a person. Isn’t that amazing?
The question now is, who is a cheerful giver? It is the one who gives without complaints, grudges, or compulsion. It is the one who gives because he understands how his giving contributes to the expansion of the Kingdom and improves people’s lives. It is the one who joyfully gives and is eager to give whenever he has the opportunity. It is the one who does not need to be reminded before he gives, because he is sensitive to the need in the house.
This is the one who gives cheerfully. The question is, are you like this? Did I just describe you, or are you different? Beloved, if you truly want to win the heart of God and make an impact in the Kingdom and in your local church, one thing you must decide to do is to be a cheerful giver. All it takes is a decision, knowing very well that the one who gives cheerfully receives a promise.
For it is written, “Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” —Luke 6:38 (NKJV). Did you see that? These were the very words of Jesus. He said that when you give, you position yourself to receive in great measure.
So make this a lifestyle. Be the cheerful giver that God wants you to be, and He alone will elevate you, for it is written, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” —2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV).

Prayer
Thank You, heavenly Father, for Your provision. I declare that I am a giver, and I give cheerfully without complaint or otherwise. I declare that through my giving, I am positioned for God’s greater blessings and manifesting the glory of God, in the name of Jesus. Amen!
