“….And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God….”Luke 4:3-4 (NKJV)
In my early days as a young believer, one of the things I battled with was knowing what to do in a difficult situation. I knew that there was something I could do, but I didn’t know exactly what and how to manage things to come out of such situations. So, this predicament lingered until I heard a message one day that changed my life. In that message the man of God said, when you face a situation that seems to challenge your faith in God, use God’s word to tackle it. He said look for a scripture that relates to that situation and use it in prayers. Now, when I began to do that, I started to notice a great change and since then, this has been a regular practice in my life.
Beloved, if you ever find yourself in any situation that seems to trouble your peace or faith, don’t fret, just apply God’s word to that situation. Every situation that men will ever face already has a scripture that tackles it. So, your responsibility is to look for that scripture and use it.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, faced a real temptation and the way He dealt with it was through the scripture. On one occasion, “….the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God….’ ‘Luke 4:3-4 (NKJV). The devil still did not back out. The Bible says, “…the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”Luke 4:5-8 (NKJV). Did you see that, our Lord Jesus Christ kept on giving him a reply with the scriptures, until the devil departed from Him. Beloved, you too can win your battles and temptations. All you need to do is apply the word of God to that situation. Praise God!
