“…for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him…” — Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

One of the most common statements I have heard over the years amongst the brethren is “I have prayed and nothing has happened”, and the reason they say this is because their mindset concerning prayers has not been worked on. Beloved, one thing you must know is that a man who says, “I have prayed and nothing happened”, does not believe in the scriptures or in prayers. You need to understand that that statement is not in line with the scriptures.

All through the Bible, we are told to pray because there is someone waiting to hear and answer our prayers. In fact, God said to His people in Isaiah 65:24, “…it shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer and while they are still speaking I will hear…”. In John 16:23, Jesus Christ said to us “Whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you…” All these scriptures and many more are there to let us know that prayer works. So when a man says I have prayed and nothing happened, it is obvious that that man has not embraced the reality of the scriptures. If he does, he won’t make such statements. Therefore, I encourage you today to make the necessary adjustments in this subject called prayer. Settle this truth in your heart and know that God is always there to hear and answer our prayers. So, when you pray and do not get answers, do not jump to conclusions. Hold on to your faith in God’s promises, and let the  promises in the scriptures be your confidence. Remember, it is written, “…when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all…” James 1:6 (GNT). Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

As long as God has promised to hear and answer us when we pray, do not be hasty to think your prayers were not answered!

Confession for the Day

Glorious and everliving Father, I thank you for this wonderful counsel that you have brought to me today. I choose to rest my faith in your promises to answer our prayers. I refuse to be discouraged when I have not yet gotten answers. I choose to keep pressing in the place of prayer until I get my answers in the name of Jesus. Amen!
