After being a pastor for many years, one of the things I have discovered is that evil will not stop until men pray. Wickedness and lawlessness will continue unchecked until people intercede. Why? Because if men do not pray, God will not intervene in the situation.
Sadly, too many of God’s people do not understand this truth. They keep waiting for God to do something, while God is actually waiting for them to pray before He acts. Some people ask, “If God is really powerful, why can’t He stop all the evil going on in a city, a family, or an individual’s life?” Well, God is powerful, but He is also highly principled. As much as God would love to help, He needs an invitation to do so because of the spiritual laws that govern this realm.
When God created the earth, He said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. — Genesis 1:26 (NKJV). Did you see that? Dominion over the earthly realm was given to mankind. No spirit can function on earth without the permission of men. Since God is a Spirit, He cannot function on earth without the invitation and partnership of humanity.
Therefore, God always requires someone to invite Him, and that is where prayer comes in. Prayer is the system through which we invite God into our situations. In the book of Hosea, there was a terrible situation going on, and the Bible says, In the heat of their anger they murdered their rulers. Their kings have been assassinated one after another, but no one prays to me for help. — Hosea 7:7 (GNT). Did you see that? No one prayed to God for help, and evil prevailed.
Beloved, if you want to stop the works and activities of the devil in your life, family, or business, you must learn to pray. Do not be lazy about this discipline, because your progress entirely depends on it. Make a conscious decision today to pray until you get the results you are looking for. Stop asking questions like, “How long will I have to continue praying?”
You must understand that you do not stop praying until you receive the answers you seek. So, keep praying. Furthermore, when you finally get the answers you are looking for, you must continue to pray because what you obtain through prayer can only be sustained by prayer. Hallelujah!

Prayer
Father, I am grateful for exposing this truth to me. I refuse to be lazy with prayer. I choose this day to pray and to continue in prayer until I see the results I am looking for, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
