The people of Israel are like a half-baked loaf of bread. They rely on the nations around them and do not realize that this reliance on foreigners has robbed them of their strength. Their days are numbered, but they don’t even know it. — Hosea 7:8-9 (GNT)

In the days of the Israelites, God deeply detested their repeated tendency to rely on foreign nations for help while completely ignoring Him. On one occasion, God even described their foolishness by saying, The people of Israel are like a half-baked loaf of bread. They rely on the nations around them and do not realize that this reliance on foreigners has robbed them of their strength. Their days are numbered, but they don’t even know it. — Hosea 7:8-9 (GNT). Although they had a God who had delivered them time and time again, they chose to turn to helpless men instead. Consequently, their stubborn reliance on foreigners completely robbed them of their strength.

Just as the Israelites relied on foreign nations instead of God, many believers today lean far too heavily on human assistance. Instead of running to God first, they rush to people and expect them to solve all their problems. When that expected help fails to materialize, they become deeply offended and disappointed. The truth is, they were supposed to approach God first to receive His divine direction. Because they chose to depend on human strength first, they now struggle to handle the inevitable letdown.

Beloved, if you want to avoid these painful disappointments in life, you must learn to seek God for help at all times. As long as you live in this world, you must understand that only God can truly provide the kind of help you desire. People may assist you occasionally, but they can never support you the way God will. He does not just offer temporary relief; He provides a lasting solution because He created you and knows exactly what is best for you.

Therefore, refuse to be lazy or complacent about approaching Him for assistance. Never fall into the trap of thinking that God is too slow to help His people. God is never late; He is always perfectly on time. Whenever His help arrives, it comes at the exact moment it is supposed to manifest. So, cast away every negative thought and approach Him with confidence for the breakthrough you need.

Seek Him diligently, and you will be amazed at how He surprises you with divine solutions. Unfortunately, the challenge for many believers is that they simply give up far too soon. They ask the Lord for help for a few days and then throw in the towel when they do not see immediate results. It should not be that way, as you must not stop asking until you receive what you are looking for. Remember to pray tirelessly and in faith, because the Bible says, But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. — Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV). Hallelujah!
