“…yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” — Esther 4:14 (NKJV)

Maybe you just lost your job or missed out on a promotion at work. Perhaps you lost money through a bad investment, or your investors walked away to back your competitors. You might feel like you are standing far from where you planned to be, constantly asking yourself, “Why me?” When you try repeatedly but nothing works out, it is easy to wonder why everyone else is moving forward while you remain on the losing side. If this sounds familiar, you might be looking at your situation from the wrong perspective.

Have you considered that the things you go through may just be God positioning you for the next level? Most people only step into their next season because they are pushed; if it were up to them, they would happily stay exactly where they are. Consider Queen Esther, who was taken to the king’s palace as a captive. No one asked if she wanted to go willingly. Like any other captive, she likely wept and asked God, “Why me?” while fearing for her future.

Little did she know that God allowed her circumstances to serve as her divine positioning. It was a setup for royalty, placing her exactly where God needed her to be. This was God’s chosen method to give her the opportunity to meet the king, win his favor, and ultimately become Queen Esther (Esther 2:5–10). You have undoubtedly faced your fair share of disappointment and heartbreak, such as wanting a major promotion only to watch someone else get chosen. But relax; nothing you go through is a mistake, but rather a stepping-stone to greater glory!

You may have lost some opportunities, but do not fret. God is taking you somewhere!

Prayer

Glorious Father! I thank You for the training I have received through the experiences in my life. I thank You for the spiritual positioning that brought me to where I am now. I declare that this same positioning is taking me to the glorious place You have destined for me. Hallelujah!
