“…he who sows to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life…”

Galatians 6:8 (NKJV)

After you have become a Christian, do you know that it matters what you spend your time on? Do you know that even though we have the liberty to do all things, not all things are helpful for our spiritual growth and welfare? Well, in case you do not know, I am telling you now.  As a Christian, it is important to understand that God does not want us to spend our time on things that will not edify us or make us grow in our Christian lives. Rather He wants us to invest our time in spiritual matters because those are the things that help us to develop spiritually and enjoy the benefits of our place in Christ Jesus. We can see from our opening text, that the bible says, “…he who sows to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life…”Galatians 6:8 (NKJV). Did you see that? It lets us know that if we go In the way of the flesh, what we will reap is nothing but results that come from the flesh. But if we sow to the Spirit, we will reap the benefits of going in the way of the Spirit.

Therefore, it is important that you learn from this and begin to live your life the way God wants you to live it. Spend more time on things of the Spirit because those are the things that have the ability to transform your life to no end. Spend time on things that glorify God and gives the Holy Spirit the opportunity to move mightily in your life. Spend time to study the Bible and meditate on it. Make yourself available for prayer meetings in Church and all other meetings going on in your local church. Give attention to prayer and fasting in your life because it helps you to realize your true destiny and fulfill your purpose in Christ Jesus. When you invest your free time like this, it is impossible to fail or struggle through life because you are engaging yourself in matters that brings life or improve life. But when you spend your time, watching television, flipping through people’s pictures on Instagram and Facebook and engaging in all sorts of worldly activities ranging from gossip to partying etc., it will only bring you nothing but struggling because that’s like a selfish way of living. So make a conscious decision to spend your time well and invest it wisely. Use your off days wisely and use your free time to do things that will bring glory to God in your life and promote you spiritually. In a nutshell, do not spend your time on selfish things but on things that exalt Him. Hallelujah!
