“…so now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified…”

Acts 20:32 (NKJV)

In our opening text, we see Paul the Apostle declaring his confidence in the word of God. He said to the brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified…” Acts 20:32 (NKJV). He insinuated that the Word is able to build you up and give you an inheritance. He had so much confidence in the Word and therefore, spoke of his confidence in the Word of God. Now, what is the significance of this? If Paul the Apostle could have such confidence in God’s Word that he recommended it, it means you and I ought to operate on this same confidence because truly the Word works. Therefore, it is important that you live every day of your life placing your confidence in the potency of it. Appropriate it to your everyday life and exercise your faith in it. When it comes to your finances, apply it there. When it comes to your business apply it there and when it comes to your marriage apply it there as well. There is nothing in this life that it cannot fix if you apply it right.

You might say, but if truly the Word works, how come many Christians are still suffering and going through a lot of struggles in their lives? Well, the challenge a lot of times is the wrong application of the Word which comes from a lack of understanding of the dictates of the word of God. Therefore, to escape being like every other person out there, you have to give the Word the required attention, so that you can understand in full detail what the word requires of you. When you understand it and apply it the way it ought to be, you will certainly begin to see results because truly, the Word works. So as you continue your walk with God, endeavour to put your confidence in His Word. When God promised Abraham a child, the Bible recorded that, “…he did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform…” Romans 4:20 (NKJV). Did you see that? Abraham had confidence in the Word and he believed the word, therefore, the results that followed was outstanding. You too can have outstanding results but you need to believe in the Word and put your confidence in it. Praise God!
