“Submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.” — James 4:7 (GNT)
As long as you live in this world, the devil will never stop trying to come after you. He will continually bring temptations, set traps, and create obstacles in an attempt to derail your walk with God. But as a child of God, you must remain vigilant and spiritually alert to avoid falling for his schemes. The question is, how alert are you?
Many believers fail to take this reality seriously. They downplay the enemy’s tactics, shrugging them off as insignificant. However, the Bible gives a clear warning: “Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.” — 1 Peter 5:8 (GNT). Did you see that? The Bible calls him your enemy.
Whether you acknowledge it or not, the devil is actively working against you. His mission is to bring failure, pain, and sorrow into your life, and he is relentless in his pursuit. That’s why you must take a firm stand against him. How? The Bible gives the answer: “Submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.” — James 4:7 (GNT).
As you navigate this year, be mindful of this truth—it will keep you steps ahead of the enemy. You might ask, “How exactly do we resist the devil?” We’ll explore that in the next teaching, but for now, meditate on this truth and position yourself for victory. Hallelujah!
Today’s Rhema
If you consciously and continually resist the devil, he has no choice but to flee!
