His faith did not leave him, and he did not doubt God’s promise; his faith filled him with power, and he gave praise to God. He was absolutely sure that God would be able to do what he had promised. — Romans 4:20-21 (GNT)
Beloved, are you going through a difficult situation right now that seems to weigh you down? Are you currently buckling under the pressure? Well, whatever the case may be, I have good news for you: no matter the odds, refuse to give in or allow your faith to leave you.
I know that sometimes it can be difficult to maintain your composure because of the pressure that difficult situations bring, but don’t give in to it. That pressure is only for a short time. If you stay in faith and in the Word, the pressure will pass, and you will prevail.
Papa Abraham was a man whose faith was tested beyond words. All he had were the promises of God. He was very old, and so was his wife. The odds against them were real. Even though they had God’s promise, the child was not coming forth. But something remarkable happened. The Bible says:
And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. — Romans 4:19-21 (NKJV)
Did you see that? No wonder the Bible says:
And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” — Romans 4:22 (NKJV)
So, no matter what you face or go through in your walk with God, refuse to allow your faith to leave you. The temptations may be there, the odds may be real, and the facts may be genuine, but refuse to waver or stagger in your faith. Stay in faith, stay in the Word, and keep your hopes high. As long as you don’t give up, you will surely prevail. Praise God!
