“the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places…” —Ephesians 1:18-20 (NKJV)
A major prayer the Apostle Paul prayed for the Ephesian church was that the eyes of their understanding would be enlightened. He wanted them to know the hope of God’s calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power toward them. Paul prayed this because they needed to come to terms with everything God had made available to them in Jesus. They needed to understand the magnitude of God’s power. This way, as they continued their Christian walk, their faith would rest not in the strength or knowledge of men, but in the power of God.
Why was this prayer so important? Paul wanted the believers in Ephesus to operate from a place of revelation so their faith would not fail in difficult situations. In our Christian race, we sometimes face challenges that test our faith and put doubts in our hearts. However, when we meditate on God’s power toward us, we realize we will always come out victorious. If this power could bring Jesus back to life from spiritual death, there is absolutely nothing it cannot do for us.
As a Christian, it is essential that you meditate on God’s power toward you. Take time to understand the magnitude of this power and its availability in your life. You have access to a power that can produce exactly what you need at any time. However, you must actively meditate on it for that reality to truly come alive in your daily walk.
You might ask how you can meditate on the power of God. It is as simple as going back to the Scriptures and studying the great things achieved by His mighty hand. As you ponder these testimonies, you will realize that the same power that worked miracles years ago can do even more for you today. Do not wait any longer; get into God’s Word today and let His power come alive in your mind and spirit. Praise God!

Focus on the magnitude of God’s power; it will help you win in all circumstances!
Confession for the Day
My focus and meditation will continually rest on God and His power, not on the circumstances I face in life. Therefore, I refuse to let any situation make my faith waver. I know that greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Praise God!
