Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, lest—when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them… when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God… —Deuteronomy 8:11–12, 14 (NKJV)

Today, most people are suffering and going in circles in their lives because they have abandoned God, their first love. They are so much in pursuit of life that they have forgotten the giver of life Himself. So they end up struggling with their lives and blaming their challenges on others, not realizing that they have abandoned the one who makes life work.

So I ask you today: What is taking God’s place in your life? Do something about it now, before it is too late.

A man of God shared a touching story about himself that impacted me a great deal. He said that as a pastor, he got to a point in his life where he became so busy with the work of the ministry that he didn’t have time to fellowship with God anymore. The church was growing, and he was getting speaking engagements again and again, to the point that he was all over the place. Then one day God said to him, “If you continue like this, you will dry up soon and fall, because your passion for Me has dried up.” So he had to sit up and clear his schedule just to get back on track with God.

So I ask you again, what is taking God’s place in your life? Have you become so carried away with the job or business that God blessed you with that you no longer have time for Him who gave you this blessing? Has your love for God and His house waxed cold? Is your pursuit of money dragging you away from God?

It’s time to review your life and put things in place. Praise God!

Today’s Rhema

Rekindling your passion for God can be a game changer if you are willing to review your life!

Confession for the Day

For all those times I became dispassionate about the things of God, I receive mercy. For all those times I allowed other things to take God’s place in my life, I receive mercy, and I declare that the grace to stay passionate for God and His work rests on me mightily in the name of Jesus. Amen!
