“You shall have no other gods before Me.” —Exodus 20:3 (NKJV)
When many people face difficulties or challenges today, instead of clinging solely to Jesus, they look for other spiritual ways to solve their problems. They move from one spiritual or traditional house to another, searching for fetish or diabolic solutions. On Sunday, they are in church, but during the week, they return to those traditional houses. To them, this feels like the right thing to do. They feel a need to add to Christ, but that is totally wrong.
Jesus and His principles are all you need to overcome any difficulty you find yourself in. You will find your solution in His character and the way He lived, or by following His instructions. Either way, He is all you need to be victorious. You do not need any other spiritual channel or personality. He is a complete solution. If you cling to Him and follow His commands carefully and diligently, you will surely emerge a victor.
So, I encourage you today to look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. He is God’s answer for you in every situation. If you surrender to Him and let Him guide you, you will be victorious. Refuse to give in to any counsel that points you away from Jesus, as it will only bring you more problems instead of solutions. No matter how enticing such advice may look, recognize the lies and avoid moving in that direction.
Be like Joshua, who boldly declared his allegiance to God. He said, “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” —Joshua 24:15 (NKJV). Did you see that? Be a Christian who adds nothing to Christ, but clings to Him in all seasons. Praise God!

Father, I am grateful that You reminded me of this truth. I choose today to cling to You and Your word for solutions in every season. Nothing will make me look for solutions elsewhere but You, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
