“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather be afraid of God, who can destroy both body and soul in hell.”Matthew 10:28 (GNT)

As a young lad, I used to be very afraid of men, especially those involved in wicked acts, witchcraft activities, and the like. This fear lived with me for a very long time until I received Jesus into my life. After I was born again, I came across our opening text, and my eyes were opened. I realized that what I owe men is honor, love, and respect. Beyond this, I wasn’t supposed to be afraid of any man because men can only harm the body but cannot harm the soul. When I came to the realization of this truth, I was released from the bondage of fear.

Beloved, you too can become free from this bondage if you meditate on the word I am sharing with you. In our opening text, the Bible says, “…do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather be afraid of God, who can destroy both body and soul in hell.”Matthew 10:28 (GNT). Did you see that? This means that man can only harm the body, and that’s it. But the God you serve can destroy both body and soul, and He can keep any man from harming you.

So, get rid of that fear today and embrace faith in God and His word. If anyone is threatening your peace, take that person to God in prayer. God is able to handle them because it is written, “…the Lord controls the mind of a king as easily as he directs the course of a stream…”Proverbs 21:1 (GNT). He can turn the heart of a wicked man away from you or even cause them to love you. Focus on God and His promises for your life. Hallelujah!

Today’s Rhema

Your duty is to love, honor, and respect men — don’t fear them!

Confession for the Day

The spirit of fear is rebuked and cast out of my life in Jesus’ name. I choose this day to love, honor, and respect men, but I will not be afraid of them, for greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Hallelujah!
