“…I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who fall asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus…”1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 (NKJV)

One of the things I have had to come to terms with in my walk with God is that Christians don’t die. It is hard to believe but that is just the truth. Christians truly don’t die, so what happens when a Christian leaves this world, what do you call that, you might ask? Well, it’s simple, when a Christian leaves this world, he/she did not die, they only translocated. Translocation is when you move from one location to another. When a man leaves this world, he drops the earthly body (the mortal body, the terrestrial body) and takes up the immortal body which according to the bible is called a celestial body (1 Corinthians 15:40). Now, after taking up the celestial body, they begin to live on because the real man is not the body but a spirit which will always need a body to function in the different realms. For those who are Christians, they will live on with the Lord with a celestial body in heaven until the time for the judgement of the world, where everyone will be raised back to life to be given the final judgement (Scripture Reference: Revelation 20:4-15). But those who did not accept the finished works of Jesus Christ, who did not even believe that Jesus Christ was the saviour, they also will live on but their dwelling place will be in a place of torment called hell which most people are not willing to accept that it exist (Scripture Reference: Revelation 20:13-14). But we do believe and accept this fact because the bible says so.

So it’s important that you understand that when a Christian leaves this world, he/she didn’t die but is sleeping. That is the language communicated to us from the scriptures and we see that in the case of Lazarus who died and when Jesus Christ was communicating to His disciples about Lazarus’ demise, He said “…our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I go that I may wake him up…” John 11:11 (NKJV). Did you see that? That was Jesus Christ revealing to us the right language to use and the real issue that happens with a man who died believing in Him. And by raising Lazarus back to life, (John 11:38-44), Jesus Christ demonstrated what the fate of anyone who believes in Him will be like when they finally sleep. More also, Jesus Christ confirmed His words that says, “…whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die…” John 11:26 (NKJV) Why? Because when they sleep, they will be raised back to life according to God’s word in our opening text. So let this be your comfort and your strong hold. If you have lost anyone in the past or recently, be rest assured that they are not dead but lives. Hallelujah!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Whoever lives and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth will never die!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Thank you heavenly father for revealing to me the truth about death, I thank you for making a blissful life after death possible through the finished work of Jesus Christ. I will continue to dwell on this truth and kick out the fear of death from my life completely in Jesus name. Amen!
