“..Soon afterwards, Jesus traveled through the cities and villages, preaching and proclaiming the good news of God’s kingdom. The Twelve were with him, along with some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses. Among them was Mary Magdalene (from whom seven demons had been thrown out), Joanna (the wife of Herod’s servant Chuza) Susanna and many others who provided for them out of their resources…”- Luke 8:1-3 (NKJV)

When you take a look at our opening scripture, the bible tells us about certain women who distinguished themselves with the way they gave towards the work of the kingdom. They had benefited from the gospel and had received their healing, so in appreciation, they began to give towards the preaching of the gospel and they did this, not out of their abundance but out of whatever they had. In other words, from the little they had, they thought it wise to give for the furtherance of the Gospel. They had a sense of responsibility, they knew that this Gospel that they had benefited from, can also benefit others too. So all they could think of was to ensure that the Gospel spreads in the land through their giving. Their attitude was an exceptional one and God wants us to emulate this and be kingdom financiers. As a Christian who have received salvation and the blessings that it brings, you have a responsibility to spread the Gospel using your resources like these women did. Jesus Christ came to pay the price so that we can be saved to save others and the only way others can be saved is if we spread the Gospel by every means possible. We are living in a world where money facilitates things. When money is available, things happen fast and the Gospel moves quick.

So your contribution towards fulfilling God’s dream for mankind is to ensure that you use every resource within your reach to promote and spread the Gospel. It is good to spend money on other things for your comfort, but you must see to it that the kingdom of God comes first. Do not have the mentality of the people in the world, who are careless in their spending. They spend money on every other thing except the Gospel. They do not care whether people receive the Gospel or not, they do not see any reason why they should even give towards the spreading of the Gospel because their mind is not on these things but the truth remains that a lot of people are hurting. Many are weak and beggarly, sick and dying and the only solution available is the Gospel. This is why you have to make a conscious decision to develop a strong passion for the spreading of the Gospel using that which God has blessed you with. When you are a kingdom financier, your goal will always be to make funds available to aid the spreading of the Gospel. Sometimes people may say but what if I do not have? How do I come in? Well, when you take a look at the story of those women, the bible didn’t sound as though they really had, it was clear they didn’t have much, but at their level they gave what they felt could go a long way, at least it was better than not doing anything at all.  The same thing applies here; do not wait to have plenty before you can contribute whatever you have. Start from where you are and what you have, your faithfulness and determination are all God is watching out for. So I encourage you to begin today to give towards kingdom advancement “…for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver (whose heart is in his giving) 2 Corinthians 9:7 (AMP)

TODAY’S RHEMA

Do not wait to have plenty before you can contribute whatever you have, start with the little you have!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Father in the Name of Jesus, Your Word declares in 2Corinthians 9:10 that you are the one who gives seed to the sower to sow, therefore, I declare that from every blessing that comes to me, I will channel some to the spreading of the Gospel, because giving is my life and my calling and I will do everything within my reach to send the Gospel to the far ends of the earth by the power of God’s Spirit in Jesus name. Amen!
