“…As you have therefore received Jesus Christ the Lord, so walk in Him rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving…” Colossians 2:6-7 (NKJV)

As you have received Jesus Christ into your life, one of the consciousness that you should have is that God wants you to keep your roots deep in Him and build your life in Him. He wants Jesus Christ to be at the centre point of your life where everything you do surrounds Jesus Christ and His words. He wants you to be deeply involved in your walk with Him, so that your life can be a reflection of the full provisions of what Jesus Christ has brought to us through His finished works. He doesn’t want you to be in Christ and yet disconnected from Christ. Today, you find that, that’s the case. Lots of God’s people are only in Christ on a shallow level. They have no commitment with Him, they have little or no knowledge of His words and the whole idea of being in Christ for them is just like a part time thing.
So when they are not seeing the fruits of being in Christ, they wonder what’s happening to their lives. But the truth remains that, if you want to truly see the fruits of your identity in Christ, you must give it your all. It’s in doing this, you become established in the word of righteousness and also in the faith. It is in doing things that you become stronger in your walk with God and deeply rooted in the things of the Spirit. When you are deeply rooted in Him, there is no amount of persecution or challenges you face that will make you quit on Him as is the manner of some people. Today in the Christendom, we are increasingly seeing people who are one day in the faith and tomorrow that are backslidden because they couldn’t take the pains and the pressure of their challenges. Instead of holding on to Jesus, they draw back and embrace their old life, this time with an even worse reckless living. You know why? Because they were never really rooted and grounded in Christ. So I urge you today to become conscious of your walk with Jesus. Abandon yourself to Him and every day take steps that will pull you further in Him, not steps that will pull you away from Him. Do not be like those who at one point were workers in Church, burning in the things of God, having a real relationship with Christ but due to some challenges, took steps backwards and have become disinterested in the things of God. Be a good example and abound in your walk with Him, it’s for your own benefit both in this world and in the world to come.

TODAY’S RHEMA

When you are deeply rooted in Him, there is no amount of persecution or challenges you face that will make you quit on Jesus!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Thank you heavenly Father for the life which you have given to me in Christ Jesus. I thank you for guiding in the path I should follow. Therefore, I declare that I am deeply rooted and grounded in Christ and against all odds, I continue to make progress in Him and matching my way to the top through Him. Halleluiah!
