“…all scripture given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work…”2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)
The word of God was given to us so that we can have it as a guiding light in our day-to-day activities. It was given to us so that we can understand God’s plans for us, know His promises and walk in His ways. The Psalmist understood this and he said, “…your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path…” Psalms 119:105 (NKJV). He understood the role that the word of God had to play in his life and when we take a look at his life and achievement, we see that the glory of the word reflected greatly in his life and the same can happen for you too, if you will see the word of God as a manual and not a menu. The challenge today is that many no longer see the word of God as the manual they need to live victoriously in this world. Instead, they see it as a menu. Now, remember, a manual is what you depend on and follow to lead you to your destination but a menu is what you choose from. You choose what you like and leave what you don’t like. This is the approach that many are using to follow the word of God today. They choose what they want and feel is right for them to follow or practice and they leave the rest of it, thinking that is the right thing to do. But I am here today to say, that is not the right way to approach the word of God.
When you follow the word of God like that, you will surely miss out on the many benefits of the word of God that can change your life over. So, in order to avoid such things, it is best you begin to see the word of God as the manual to live by and not a menu to choose from. The Bible says, “…all scripture given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work…”2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV). Did you see that? If it was given for these purposes, it is obvious God does not want you choosing from it but living by it. I know this might not necessarily go down well with a lot of folks but that is just the truth. The word of God is the manual for life, and as such your responsibility is to give attention to the word of God, so that you can do what it says and live in the blessings that it brings. Even when you may not be comfortable with some of the things the Bible has to say, it will not deter you because you know better. So, I admonish you today, to treat the word of God as the manual that it is and put aside your opinions and views. They do not count when it comes to the word. What counts is the opinions and views of God and He knows better because He is the author of life. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
Father, I am grateful for this timely message you have brought to me today. I choose this day to submit to the views and opinions of your word. I choose to submit to the authority and dictates of the word and as I do this, I am walking in the blessings that the word of God brings in Jesus’ name. Amen!
