“…for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more…” —Hebrews 8:12 (NKJV)

Having established the importance of letting go of what God has forgotten, someone might say “but I can’t just seem to let go. I find it difficult to stop thinking about it”. Well, you need to understand the word of God and choose to let go because it is in your best interest. You need to follow scriptures and embrace the provisions of the finished works of the master. It is true you may have done some very terrible things in the past, but now that you have repented and received Jesus into your life, you have to let go. It is important to know that, if you are thinking of the past mistake God is not, you are only assuming He is. Make up your mind not to live your life according to assumptions, but according to God’s word. If you are in Christ, God does not store your mistakes somewhere and wait for your cup to be full to punish you neither does He stop blessing you because of the mistakes of the past. These ideas are not consistent with the scriptures at all.

The Bible says “…God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him…” if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life…” Romans 5:8-10 (NKJV) meaning that if God did not consider the errors of men when He sent His son to die for mankind. Why will He consider the errors now that His son already paid the ultimate price? In our opening scripture the Bible revealed to us God’s heart towards us when He said “I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more…” Hebrews 8:12 (NKJV). Therefore, stop holding on to what God does not remember and move on with your life. When you make a mistake, don’t be hard on yourself, acknowledge it, repent of it and change the way you live and move on with your life so that you can enjoy the full benefits of Grace. Praise God!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Dwelling in the past, frustrates the future!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

I declare this day that my life will no longer be lived based on assumption but on the reality of God’s word. And by the power of the Holy Spirit, I refuse to allow the past to ruin my future, therefore, I choose to let go of all past mistakes and I reach out for the opportunities that tomorrow brings in the name of Jesus. Amen
