“…in the beginning was the word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…” John 1:1 (NKJV)

Hurray! A New Year has begun and you are most fortunate to be alive to see the New Year. May wished for it, but they couldn’t see it, not because they were not passionate enough but because life happened. So you, who have experienced the beginning of the New Year, one of the things you must do for yourself is to start with God. Put Him first in all your plans and endeavors this season because truly, He made it possible for you to see another brand New Year and the least you can do, is to involve in your plans, decisions, and choices this year so that He can guide you in the way you should go. The Bible clearly admonished us saying, “…commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalms 37:5. In proverbs 16:3, the Bible also says, “…commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established…” Did you see that? All these are pointing to the fact that you need to involve God in all you do, but if that is going to happen, you have to deliberately start with Him and make His word your priority.

The question is how are you going to do this? Well, it’s simple, the Bible says in Matthew 6:33, “…seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you…” From the Amplified Classic version, the Bible says “…seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His Kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides…”. I believe this is self-explanatory. So as the year begins today, start with God. Channel your focus and strength on the demands of God this season. Commit your plans to the Lord and believe Him to bring your heart desires to pass. Refuse to be carried away by anything that will pull you away from the Lord. Focus your attention on God and I can guarantee you that the New Year will be a glorious one for you.

TODAY’S RHEMA

When you start with the Lord, everything about your life is taken care of!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for the opportunity to see the New Year, as I begin the year today, I am starting with you and your word shall continue to be my watchword in the name of Jesus. Amen!
