“…then there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance…..And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language…” Acts 2:2-3, 5-6 (NKJV)
It’s not really an easy task to set a distinctive pace between you and people around you, but it’s possible and achievable. It’s possible to set yourself apart from the crowd, it’s possible to have mind-blowing results, such that people around you will be amazed. But just like any success story, there is a price to pay and a sacrifice to offer. When we take a look at the opening text, we see an event that took place that set the Apostles of Jesus Christ apart from others. They received the gift of the Holy Spirit and they spoke with new tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance while others were busy having a party and celebrating. They were in the same Jerusalem with the Jews, and other devout men from every nation under heaven, but they were the ones that received the gift of the Spirit and that is because they set themselves apart in their way of worship, prayer and devotion to the Lord.
They did not mingle with the crowd, they were not found celebrating and partying at the hour they were supposed to be praying. They were different, they were set apart and they were waiting to be used by the Holy Spirit as a witness in their own world. This therefore means that you and I can actually set ourselves apart from the crowd. We don’t need to have a general results the way others are having it. We can be different just like Abraham, David, Moses, and the Apostle Paul and lots of other men in the bible. We can be like them, having a distinctive character but the way to achieve that is to be devoted and dedicated to the Lord, so that we can be used by Him. Therefore, make up your mind to be different by giving yourself wholly to the Lord. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
Our Lord Jesus Christ was different in every way. He was different in the way He spoke, the result He achieved and the sacrifices He made. Therefore, I chose to be different, I chose to have exceptional results, I chose to stand out and I chose to be the light that shines for men to see in Jesus name. Amen!
