…He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. —Ephesians 1:20-21 (NKJV)
The world we live in today has become very dangerous. The devil is on the loose, busy bringing all kinds of afflictions upon people. Many have suffered, and are still suffering, from these demonic attacks. Sadly, some have even lost their lives because of satanic manipulations.
However, as a child of God, you need to understand that no matter the attack or affliction out there, God has given you victory through Jesus. You may not feel or look victorious, but that does not change the facts. It is simply the truth. You have the victory through the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. To help you understand this clearly, the Bible says:
…God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus… —Ephesians 2:4-6 (NKJV)
Did you see that? We are seated together with Christ in heavenly places. Now, the implication of this position is that we are also seated far above all principalities and powers. You might ask, how do we know this? Well, the Bible tells us so:
…He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. —Ephesians 1:20-23 (NKJV)
Do you understand now? Because Jesus is seated in the heavenly places far above all principalities and powers, we are seated right there with Him. We are complete in Him (Colossians 2:10) because He is our head, and we are His body. So, as you journey in your Christian walk, have no fear. No matter what arrows of affliction fly around or what attacks come against you, never forget your position in Christ.
You are seated together with Him in heavenly places, far above all principalities and powers. You already operate from a place of power and advantage. All you need to do is embrace this truth and exercise your authority over every attack and affliction. When you do, you will always win. Praise God!
