REMEMBER THE LORD

“….and you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth…” Deuteronomy 8:18 (NKJV)

In all your successes and victories in life, do you remember the Lord your God as your source and acknowledge His role in your life? Do you remember Him as the one who gave you the abilities and capabilities to be who you are and where you are today? Well, so many people do not remember this at all. They get so caught up with the affairs of life and their successes that they forget that it is God who made it happen. In most cases, they come to that point where they give themselves the glory and says things like “my hard-earned money” but they never stop to think that God made it happen. So they go on living their lives without recognizing the role of God in their lives until trouble comes. Then they suddenly remember God in their lives.

Beloved, make a conscious decision to see to it that this never becomes the case for you. As a child of God it is imperative that you remember God at all times and acknowledge His role in your life and give to Him the glory that is due to Him. King Nebuchadnezzar became so prosperous and successful that he began to take the glory that belonged to God. On one occasion he said “…is not this great Babylon that I have built for a royal dwelling by mighty power and for the honour of my majesty…” Daniel 4:30 (NKJV) And God was angry with Him because He didn’t regard God’s role in His prosperity. So while the word was still in the king’s mouth, judgement was passed on Him and he lived with animals for a long time. It was after many years when God had mercy on him, that he came back to his senses and he remembered the Lord and gave him the praises that belonged to him. The Bible recorded that he said, “…all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, what have you done?….Now I King Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all of whose works are truth, and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to put down…”Daniel 4:35, 37 (NKJV) He learnt the hard way and remembered God when he had learnt some lessons. But let your case be different, do not remember God the hard way. Whatever it is that is due to Him, praises, glory, tithe seeds and offerings should be given to Him, that He may bless you more. It is the secret of living a triumphant life. God bless you!

Heavenly Father I thank you for your grace and glory in my life, I acknowledge all you have done for me and in me. I honour you for all your mighty works and deeds in my life and I thank you because you are doing more for me and in me, now and all the days of my life in Jesus name. Amen!
