“…Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church…. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison…” Acts 12:5,7 (NKJV)
Over the years, I have been privileged to meet a lot of people and one of the things I noticed that is most consistent with the people I have met is that they don’t like praying. Whenever you talk to them about prayers, they will tell you that they pray but in the real sense they don’t’ pray. Why? Because to an extent, they do not understand the role that prayer plays in their lives. They do not understand that through the ministry of prayers, they can actually arrest a lot of challenges that they face in life. So, because of their ignorance, they continue to face challenges that they were meant to pray out of their way this shouldn’t be the case. However, if you do not want to live like this as a believer, you must make a conscious decision to take prayers seriously because when you do, it can literally change your life and upgrade the way you live. One of the things prayers will do for you is that it will activate the ministry of angels in your life and make your life easier.
The Bible told us the story of how James the brother of John was killed with the sword and because Herod the king saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to seize Peter also and threw him into prison. Now, when the church saw what was going on, they decided to pray. As they prayed, the Bible recorded that an angel of the Lord stood by Peter and a light shone in the prison and that was how Peter was released. (Scripture Reference: Acts 12:1-11). The intercessory prayers of the church activated the ministry of an angel and through that angel, Peter gained his freedom. Interestingly, when Peter got back to the house of Mary, the mother of John, they were still praying (Acts 12:12). In the book of Luke 22:41-43, the Bible shows us also, how an angel came to strengthen our Lord Jesus Christ, after He had prayed fervently. Now, that is how powerful prayers can be. So, as you journey in your Christian walk, consider taking the ministry of prayers very seriously, because it will activate angels in your life that will help you scale through many difficulties.

Lord, I am grateful for this enlightenment through your word. I decree today the spirit of prayer is mightily at work in me and all through my life, I am constantly stirred up to pray and as I do, I enjoy the ministry of angels in Jesus name. Amen!
