“…as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life…” John 3:14 (NKJV).

With the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, it is obvious that the devil has an agenda for this year and will stop at nothing to ensure that many lives are destroyed before the year comes to an end. However, no matter what His plan may be, you can be exempted from that plan by continually looking to Jesus and not what the enemy is doing. When you keep your gaze on Jesus, it will help you to walk in an uncommon victory, health and glory. But you must make a conscious decision to keep your eyes on Him because in Him is life. Anyone, who maintains his or her gaze on Jesus, will certainly not be a victim to the treacherous acts of the wicked this year.

In the old testament, the Bible gives us an account of how the Israelites disobeyed God, and God “…sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, and many of the people of Israel died…” Numbers 21:6. When they realized what they had done, they pleaded with Moses to pray to the Lord that He may take away the serpents and God answered that prayer and said to Moses “…make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live…” Numbers 21:8 (NKJV). And indeed, those who looked at the bronze fiery serpent after they had been bitten lived. They didn’t need to do any other thing, other than to look and live. Now, years down the line, our Lord Jesus Christ came on the scene and said, “…as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life…” John 3:14 (NKJV). Did you see that? All that is required of you now is to believe in Jesus and keep your gaze on Him and all the wickedness and evil going on out there in the world will not come near you. So, I encourage you today, as you journey in your Christian walk this year, keep your eyes on Jesus.

TODAY’S RHEMA

As long as your eyes are on Jesus, you will not be a victim!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Glorious and ever-living Father, I thank you for your word today, I choose this day to keep my eyes and focus on Jesus and anything that will want to distract me from keeping my gaze on Him is taken out of the way in the name of Jesus. Amen!
