“…so, when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “it is finished” And bowing His head, He gave up His Spirit…”- John 19:30 (NKJV)

Beloved, you may have come across the part of scripture where our Lord Jesus Christ said “it is finished” and gave up His Spirit. If you have, my question to you is, what goes through your mind? Do you actually see yourself benefiting from that statement, or do you see it as one of those statements that anybody can make? Well, I have news for you. When Jesus Christ said “it is finished” He was trying to let us know that all that He needed to do to satisfy justice has been done and this He did on our account. Now, there is no reason for us to be hopeless, be limited in life or be victimized any longer because His blood has been shed for the purpose of our freedom from sin and death. You must understand that before Jesus Christ came, death was passed on to all men through the disobedience of the first man Adam (Romans 5:12) and because of this, all kinds of hindrances and evil were unleashed in the world.  But when Jesus Christ came, He corrected what went wrong through His blood, and death was defeated, justice was satisfied and life was unleashed.  Now, any man who is in Christ Jesus ceases from his struggles and enters into God’s rest because Jesus Christ has done it all.

It is finished; you are no longer allowed to go through difficulties, struggle, and not come out victorious. You will surely emerge a winner but Your responsibility is to stand on this truth and refuse to allow defeat or any such thing in your life. You are to always remind yourself, of the significance of the finished works in your life and let it be your source of motivation and hope. Most times, when people go through certain difficulties in their lives, you see them crying and complaining about the things that they are going through, but for you as a child of God, God wants you to live and respond differently. God wants you to live conscious of the finished work of Jesus Christ and stand your ground in it. Lay a foundation on it and let it have a stronghold in you. Always remember that Jesus Christ did not come to die for Himself; He came to die for us and give us victory in life. Therefore, you must take advantage of this truth and begin to act like it. Life will not give you what you deserve, life will only give you what you demand and this demand must be placed based on what Jesus Christ has done for you through His finished works. So, begin today, to respond to life’s challenges differently. Stop whining and start declaring your stand in the finished works of Jesus Christ. Praise God!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Always remember that Jesus Christ did not come to die for Himself; He came to die for us so that you might have life, hope and joy!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Father, I thank you for what your Son Jesus Christ has done for me through His finished works, I declare that this truth will be my strong hold and nothing can make me change my mind about it because I know that it is finished. I am living each day in dominion and I am making giant strides by the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen!
