“…for you have magnified your word above all your name…” Psalms 138:2 (NKJV)

When you listen to most worship or praise songs today, you hear them use names like “Yahweh”, “Jehovah Rapha”, Elohim”, “El-Shaddai” etc. They use these names to sing praises to God and let Him know the amazing things He has done for them and who He is to them. But you see, while there is nothing wrong with calling God these names, it is important to also understand that God has moved passed those revelations. It is true that He is Jehovah Rapha, it is true that He is Jehovah Nissi, it is true that He is Yahweh but the greater truth is that He has invested all of these titles into one name and that is the name Jesus. Now, God wants you to also be more conscious of the name Jesus as you are conscious of the other names.

The name “Jesus” is the current revelation of who God is to us. In the good old days, God revealed Himself in parts to His people. For example, in Exodus 6:2, “…God spoke to Moses and said to him; “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God almighty, but my name Lord I was not known to them…” Meaning, to Papa Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, God revealed Himself as the Almighty, but the part of God that was Lord was not known to them. But to Moses, He was now revealing Himself as Lord. In the same vein, God has revealed Himself to us as Jesus today. The totality of who God is has been vested in Jesus, that’s why the bible says, “…it pleased the father that In Him all the fullness should dwell…” Colossians 1:19 (NKJV). “…For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily…” Colossians 2:9 (NKJV). So when you call the name Jesus, you are referring to God and everything He represents. When you call the name Jehovah Rapha, you are referring to God the healer, but when you call the name Jesus, you are referring to God, the healer, the provider, and all that you can ever think about. That why the bible says, “…at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father…” Philippians 2:10-11 (NKJV).

Therefore, on the strength of this, I admonish you to use the name of Jesus more, because that name encapsulates all the revelation of who God is and all He can do in your life. Praise God!

TODAY’S RHEMA

Use the name of Jesus more, because that name encapsulates all the revelation of who God is and all He can do in your life!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Thank you heavenly father for reminding me of the revelation you have brought to us, I hereby declare that the name of Jesus will no longer be scarce on my lips. I will do all things in the name and as I do make progress in righteousness in the name of Jesus. Amen!
