“…give, and it will be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom, For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you…” Luke 6:38 (NKJV)
Just the way it’s important to have a prayer life, it is also important to have a giving life, that is a life where giving is a routine or the order of the day. Why? Because when you are a giver, all of nature will respond to you in the same way. Giving, beloved, is not just some idea formed by men, it is a principle in the Kingdom of God and also in the universe that always answers when you put it to work. It is a sure principle that will set you on top and place you amongst princes. It is a principle that can cause men to always favour you and give back to you, but the question is, will you cultivate this habit in your life? It’s not enough to say things are very difficult for me, are you a giver? Because if you are, no matter how difficult things may get, it will always open up doors for you and bring you the solution that you desire. In our opening text, the Bible says “…give, and it will be given unto you…” I want you to take note of the first statement here and what it’s trying to communicate. It says give and it will be given unto you, it’s that simple.
As long as you are a giver, men will always give back to you, but if you are not a giver, don’t expect anything from men. In fact it is a big mistake to think that men would give to you when you have not released anything. So I admonish you today to think about this, make a conscious decision to have a giving life. It might not be convenient but it is worth it. Do everything you can to make your giving happen either every day or week or month. But just remember that, the frequency of your giving will determine the frequency of your receiving and the quality of your giving will determine the quality of what comes to you as well, for it is written in our opening text that, “with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you…” Luke 6:38 (NKJV). Refuse to allow anybody discourage you because it’s the secret to living a life of dominion and having people and nature give back to you. If your hands are closed, the hands of men and nature will be closed to you. So choose this day, to give to God, give towards His righteous purposes and also give to men, not only in monetary terms but in services also. It will change your life because the man who gives, lives. But the man who is not a giver is a dying man. Even though he lives, he is dying slowly in different areas of his life and he doesn’t know it. So make a conscious decision to live differently.
