“….work out your salvation with fear and trembling”- Philippians 2:12 (NKJV)

In life, the greatest achievement a man would ever have is not money, cars, businesses, certificates or houses but the salvation of his soul. As ridiculous as this might sound it is the truth. The reason is that every other achievement is all worldly achievement which helps one to live comfortably here on earth but after all is said and done, eternal destination and comfort will not be secured. It is only secured when the soul is saved. Every other thing man achieves here on earth remains here. When the full lease of life God has given to man on earth is over, he dies and leaves these things behind including his body. The only thing that remains with him after life on earth is His soul, but you see if the soul has not been saved according to God’s laid down principles then that man ends up losing everything including his soul and worldly possessions.

So in order to avoid this tragedy, you must fight to ensure that your soul is saved while you are here on earth. When your soul is saved, you have to give value to it and protect it so that you do not lose your salvation through negligence or ignorance. You must treat it as a priceless possession.

Today, you find many people who treat worldly possessions and achievements with the utmost care. They keep their certificates very carefully, they keep their cars very safe and protect all worldly possessions with great care but when it comes to their soul, they are very careless about it. They do not care and yet it is the most important in their lives. It is the key to a secured eternal destination but because they do not understand the benefits of it, and act nonchallant about it.

However, this is the reason this message is coming to you right now that you may place value on your soul and your salvation.  Begin to treat it with care knowing very well that when it is lost, you lose everything about you. In our opening scripture, the Bible says in Philippians 2:12C (NKJV)”….work out your salvation with fear and trembling”. In other words, you are expected to do something about your salvation, you don’t fold your hands and do nothing, you don’t purposely treat it as nothing, you work it out. Therefore, take God’s word seriously, study it again and again. Be in church at all times, so that you can be instructed in the way of righteousness and be positioned in the path God wants you to follow. Halleluiah!
