“…love one another with brotherly affection (as members of one family), giving precedence and showing honor to one another…” —Romans 12:10 (NKJV)

We live in a generation where most people are only concerned about themselves. They say it is a “dog-eat-dog” generation where people do things to satisfy themselves at the expense of others. This is the reason we were given God’s word to live by and our responsibility as believers is to give preference to our neighbours. You have to understand that it matters how we treat the people who are around us irrespective of race, religion or caste. This is how God wants us to live. God does not want us treating our neighbours according to the way we see them, because with our eyes we could get worldly. He wants us to treat them according to the way He sees them, which is why we must give special preference or precedence to everyone around, not considering who they are or where they are from. When you take a look at the life of Jesus Christ, you discover that our Lord Jesus Christ considered others before Himself, and He treated everybody equally and with respect. He was with the Pharisees, scribes and the Sadducees. He was with the tax collectors and all manner of people and he treated them with respect and gave preference to them.

The Pharisees, who saw themselves as special and upright were disgusted at His simplicity, but it didn’t change how Jesus related with the people and He wants us to imbibe the same thing. This was the reason He was able to say to us “…give to everyone who asks you for something, and when someone takes what is yours, do not ask for it back. Do for others just what you want them to do for you…” Luke 6:31(GNB) because this was the kind of life He came to show us to live, no wonder He said “if you love only the people who love you, why should you receive a blessing? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount! Then He said, love your enemies and do good to them; lend and expect nothing back. You will then have a great reward, and you will be children of the Highest God. For He is good to the ungrateful and the wicked…” Luke 6:32:36 (GNB) So as you go about your daily routine today, give special preference to your neighbours, treat them nicely and be a source of joy to them and not a source of pain. God bless you!

TODAY’S RHEMA

See people the way God sees them and treat them nicely!

CONFESSION FOR THE DAY

Gracious Father, your Word today has seasoned my mind and now I can see and I know exactly the way you want me to relate with my neighbours. I declare that henceforth, I will give precedence to those around me. I will see them the way you see them and treat them as you would in the Name of Jesus. Amen!
